First I would like to say a few words about myself. I work as a physicist at Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Hungary. The first time I came to Japan was 4 years ago when I spent 6 months at Tokyo Tech as a visiting scientist. I worked in Professor Masaaki Fujii's group at the Chemical Resources Laboratory.
That was such a nice experience that I wanted very much to return to Japan. Finally the opportunity came, and I returned to the same laboratory for another 10-month period, again as a visiting scientist. This time I work with Professor Makoto Sakai and Professor Masaaki Fujii.

I stay at the International House just like I did 4 years ago. The big difference is that in the meantime I got married, so this time I came to Japan with my wife and my child. At this point I would like say that it's a very special experience to be in Japan with a small child. The kindness and almost enthusiasm with which people treat my son (on the train or on the street) is very heartwarming.

Some impressions about Japan: I am particularly impressed by the beauty of nature here. I think the kouyou season in Japan is the most beautiful natural phenomenon I have ever seen in my life. I saw it 4 years ago, and this time I deliberately made sure that my research term starts in October so that I can show the kouyou season to my wife and my son. In addition to kouyou, this year was the first time I've seen the sakura season, and it was just as breathtaking.

My impression about Japanese people is that they are very hardworking, but they also know how to enjoy life, even though their lifestyle is different from that of European people in many respects. And there are many things to enjoy in this country. Japanese food is certainly one of them. So I would like to stop here, and let's all enjoy Japanese food together.
