Accepting new and existing International Researcher Housing residents in accordance with the government’s border measures
The Japanese government requires individuals (re)entering Japan from “designated countries/regions in response to COVID-19 variants of special treatment on border measures” to self-isolate at home or other locations for a designated period. The length of isolation after entering Japan may vary depending on the individual’s circumstances, such as a) whether they arrive from countries/regions whose travelers are required to stay at government-designated accommodation, b) how many vaccine doses they have received, and c) whether they have a valid vaccination certificate. The earliest possible date for each resident to move into the International House or the 80th Anniversary Hall Housing (collectively referred to as “International Researcher Housing”) will be determined based on the length of isolation. Please check in advance the latest information on the website of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) below. When applying for the housing, please inform us of the circumstances of the individuals expecting to move in, such as their planned date of entry to Japan and the required self-isolation period.

In accordance with the government policy, current residents and those expecting to move into Tokyo Tech’s International Researcher Housing and their families are required to stay at another location for a designated period if arriving from the abovementioned designated countries/regions. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
